This year is going by so quickly, and we at Aloha Lomi Massage Academy have been doing a lot to help others relax and heal. In our community clinic, we see an average of 15-20 clients per day, including kupuna (seniors); we have done outreach with the Alu Like kupuna on more than five occasions; we have participated in community events like the Waimea Town Celebration, the Hanapepe Orchid Festival, the Health and Wellness Fair with the County of Kaua’i, and soon we will be at the first annual Kaua’i Coffee and Chocolate Festival (using chocolate massage cream!). Our haumana have been growing, healing themselves, and spreading aloha not only here at the academy but also throughout their communities and families. We are truly Bringing The Healers Back Into The Families!
Our next certification course begins March 21, 2016 and will continue for 9 months. We have graduated six classes since 2011 and look forward to our class #7 graduating early in 2016. Many of our graduates have gone on to work in spas, chiropractic offices, massage establishments, have opened their own practices, and many are supplementing other careers with their healing touch of Mana Lomi. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping someone feel better and regain their normal functions in life!
We also have offered numerous workshops this year, open to anyone who wishes to learn. Mana Lomi Level 1, fundamental lomilomi, Mana Lomi Level 2, advanced techniques, and Mana Lomi’ili’ili, Hawaiian hot stone therapy are all three day workshops, providing 27 CEU hours approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB).
